Summary

This position is located in the Washington Headquarters Services (WHS) , Equal Employment Opportunity Programs (EEOP) Office which develops monitors and implements a variety of management improvement programs and initiatives for the Director of WHS. The EEOP assists its customers in developing a model EEO program, and manages and administers the following programs and services for DoD components serviced by WHS

Your typical work assignments may include the following:

  • The incumbent is a senior specialist managing employee complaint processing and associated reporting as a primary responsibility and affirmative employment programs as a secondary responsibility.
  • Advises applicants. former employees, and employees at all levels regarding on EEO process. law and regulations.
  • Compiles, analyzes and reports statistical data to evaluate effectiveness of the program. determining trends and identifying problem areas.
  • Prepares program publicity and/ or local instructions implementing assigned portions of the EEO program to ensure that all local instructions, policies, notices. program information.
  • Participates in community outreach efforts by establishing and maintaining contact with various groups and organizations.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-11 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:

A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates your ability to: Provide EEO counseling and advice concerning alternative dispute resolution (ADR) to employee, including managers and supervisors; apply EEO principles, laws, and regulations; and compile statistical data to evaluate effectiveness of the program. OR

B. You have a PhD. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree if related from an accredited college or university. NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts for verification. OR

C. You have the specialized experience as described in A, but less than one year; and I have more than one year but less than the required education in B. Compute the percentage of the requirements met, and the total must be at least 100%. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.
